Traditional Insurance — Not Enough for JATCs

For decades, multiemployer training programs have provided vital skills training to electricians, carpenters, plumbers, construction laborers and other trade workers. Because of their educational and employment functions in overseeing these programs, joint apprenticeship and training committees (JATCs) have insurance needs that fall well outside the scope of traditional fiduciary liability insurance and fidelity bond coverage. JATCs have long resorted to building their own insurance programs through multiple policies or an endorsement to existing policies that may overlap and, even in combination, are not always a perfect fit for their needs.

A new, single-policy option, coupled with strong protocols for complying with new regulations, can help trustees to better shield their training programs from litigation and other growing risks. Read our Insurance Shield and view our recent webinar to learn more about keeping your JATC compliant and properly insured.
